ABOUT
Art has always been a part of Simona’s being. Winning several art competitions in her childhood made her feel her true calling is painting.
Born in 1971, she studied dentistry and aquired a Master of Science in Orthodontics and a PhD in Dentistry. After years of practicing art in another form in the dentistry field, she returned to her first passion and shifted to being a full-time portraiture artist, who is living and working between Germany and Spain.
Growing a remarkable following on Instagram allowed Simona to not only share her inspiration and works with a vast community of artists across the globe, but also to reach prominent collectors, who were fascinated with her artworks.
Her body of work revolves around energy and beauty and she portrays that in the purest form: the woman. Her large scale canvases embody states of being. The artist combines a variety of media in her paintings, from her main medium - acrylic paint to charcoal, pastel and ink, making use of these to express emotions through her unique style and to capture the viewer’s sight, making him emerge in another world.
"Painting women has always fascinated me because they are the highest, purest level of emotion. My canvases have become a spiritual playground and my current goal is to focus on investigating the deepest inner levels of our beings and channelling them through all of these women, animals, objects and entities that are juxtaposed, creating immersive stories for the observer and therefore challenging them to a deeper introspection."
For her cultural contribution, in 2023 Simona had the honour to be presented with the Excellency Cultural Award from the Embassy of Romania in Spain. The title was awarded to her by the Romanian Ambassador to Spain, George Bologan, himself.
Simona's paintings were published in numerous international art magazines such as Magzoid Magazine in Dubai, Artists and Illustrators in London and Bruxelles Art Vue art album, as well as in the renowned The World of Interiors. Her latest interview was in the April issue of business and lifestyle Brand You Magazine from London.
Her work was exhibited locally in Germany in various cities around Stuttgart and internationally in Austria, Monaco, Spain and Qatar to name a few. Since Simona calls Mallorca a home, she exhibited in Triple Restaurant and participated at the ArtinSal 2023 art fair. Being herself a nonconformist, she showcases her art in various decors through unique collaborations, her latest exhibition being together with a rustic furniture designer in Palma de Mallorca. But, of course, she is also to be found in the renowned Neutro Art Gallery in Mallorca.
Additionally, her artwork is available to private collectors through direct commission. Her portraits can be found in private collections across the USA and Europe.
